Taking a Substack break...
Going on Substack haitus until I finish Taste the Nation season two
Hey Substackers!!
How’s everybody doing?
I’ve been terribly MIA and for that I apologize. I’ve really wanted to post more and truly miss interacting with everyone here, but I’m deep in production for season two of Taste the Nation.
Creating this show is the most artistically rewarding experience of my creative life. Taste the Nation truly is a labor of love and unlike anything else I’ve worked on. I do the floors, windows, and doors for this baby, so to speak. I love diving into research with the producers, speaking with and learning from so many interesting people, pouring over different edits to draft voiceover text, etc. I can’t divulge too much, but what I can tell you is that I have a really good feeling about this upcoming season. We’ve met some incredible people, been to fascinating places, and eaten some effing delicious food. Each episode we’ve shot thus far is so, so rich. When season two airs, I hope you’ll love it as much as I’ve loved making it.
All that is to say, I haven’t been able to devote the time and attention necessary to Substack. So, that’s why I’ve decided to take a little break until I’m done with production. I want to be able to chat with you all, create new recipes and film cooking videos for you, but I haven’t had the time to be doing much of that in general, frankly. Taste the Nation, my second child, needs a lot of my attention right now.
Don’t worry, Substackers, I’ll be back. Let me know all the stories you want to hear in the comments below and I hope you enjoy these photos from the road in the meantime!
A Behind-the-Scenes peek at Taste the Nation, season 2:
Love,
I am really looking forward to the second season! Good luck on this journey!
For now, I will get my Padma fix from Top Chef. It’s been a great season so far
Have fun doing what you love to do! Can't wait to see what you and Taste the Nation are cooking up!
