I love these recipes. I will definitely be trying both over the holidays. I am sure that Portland will have plenty of dreary, soggy days in need of some spice and comfort. Keep the recipes coming. And tell me how anyone gets a blind date with you! That's the recipe I want. :)
I will let you know how they turn out for me, but just based on the ingredients I think they'll be great. Recently, I have been eating a primarily plant-based diet. I still enjoy cheese and meat occasionally, but have been eating much less of it. So...I am interested in recipes for vegetarian meals. Especially vegetable-based soups and meals that include lentils, rice, quinoa, or whatever else you can come up with. I like your use of spices giving layers of flavor (you even layered the sugars in your masala chai!). Keep the recipes flowing. I'll try to remember to post photos of them on my Insta.
Oh, I should also tell you that: 1) I truly enjoy your audio posts; and 2) I've read and re-read your essay on Sumac. The audio posts are warm, funny, honest, and a pleasure to take in. I often check substack to see if you've uploaded any that I've somehow missed. Your writing is a treat for the mind. Your attention to details and generous descriptions are so vivid that I feel like I'm in the room. Thank you for that. Keep it up!
These are great! Can’t wait to try.
